BORP uses sports, recreation & outdoor adventures to build educated, productive citizens, one life at a time

Did you know?

  • 28% of disabled Americans drop out of high school.

  • Just over 20% of disabled Americans get a college degree.

  • 73% of disabled Americans are unemployed.

  • Disabled kids are twice as likely to be depressed, commit suicide, and use alcohol or drugs than their able bodied peers.

In stark contrast, BORP graduates succeed in life.

  • 100% have graduated from high school in the past eleven years.

  • Over 80% either have university degrees, or are in college now.

  • Over 80% are employed.

Why do BORP Participants Succeed?

  • Studies have shown conclusively that kids who participate in sports and outdoor adventures have better grades and better habits.

  • We work closely with our participants, their families, schools, and service providers.

  • Where possible we take kids from the age of 5, and stay with them until they're 18-a key factor in our success.

  • Disabled role models: BORP participants have weekly interaction with strong, successful peers. This is a key to their success.

  • We expect a lot of BORP participants, and they rise to those expectations.
