Chakra Yoga

The human body has a multitude of energy centers (chakras) and pathways within it, all of which are affected by our daily lives. Ancient cultures have explored the qualities and attributes associated with these energy locations, as well as how they are affected by our interactions and experiences with the world. Various practices and systems have been cultivated over many years to balance and harmonize the energy centers and pathways within our body's system.
This yoga class focuses on deeply stretching and strengthening the body, while incorporating and exploring many of these energetic balancing techniques. Some examples of what each class will explore include:
--Chakra specific yoga postures
--Breathing practices
--Acu-pressure massage
--Vocal mantras
--Meditative visualizations
This class is moderate to vigorous in intensity, and some yoga experience is suggested.
About Pnina: Pnina Shamsi, MA, is a certified Kripalu yoga teacher, Reiki practitioner, sound healing therapist, and lifelong musician. She has been practicing Kripalu yoga since 2000 and teaching publicly and privately since 2008. Pnina honors each student's safety, individuality, and specific needs.
