Yoga Pranayama

With our breath comes our prana, our life source. With breath awareness and the practice of pranayama, comes life awareness and control of our vital energy. With a focus on breath awareness, this class blends the Vinyasa and Kundalini styles of yoga. From Vinyasa we learn to link breath and movement, encouraging body awareness, strength, and flexibility. From Kundalini we learn to consciously control the flow of energy within us, using meditation and mantra to release dormant energy and send it upward.  Each class begins and ends with breath work, and includes basic asana or postures for yogis of all levels.

About Shirlee: Shirlee Alkosser is a Yoga Alliance certified yoga teacher dedicated to sharing the sacred gifts that the practice of yoga has given her life.  Born in Southern California, she lived in New York City for four years, where she taught at Yoga to the People in Manhattan. Deeply connected to both the Vinyasa and Kundalini practice, her purpose in teaching yoga is to offer guidance to people on their distinct paths, with the knowledge that our true teacher comes from within.
