Sam Craven: Looking Towards Rio 2016

By paul on July 13, 2012 No Comments

Sam has done some amazing things in the last four years. He has traveled as part of the US Paralympic Team to New Zealand, Australia, Calgary Canada, Guadalajara, Mexico and Manchester, England. He has traveled to Colorado Springs, Colorado and Chula Vista, California to the Olympic Training Centers for training. He even won gold at the ParaPanAmerican Games in Guadalajara last November.

He has worked hard and came in second in both shot and discus at the Paralympic Trials in Indianapolis last Friday.   He did not make the 2012 US Paralympic team traveling to London in August, however. He is disappointed but ready to continue his training. He’ll start  with the first Chula Vista Olympic Training  camp in October, (the invitation already extended by Paralympic coaches). With brother Brad working with him in the gym and local coaches Kevin and Jeff working with him on the field, Sam will  set his sights for Rio in 2016.

Thanks for following Sam on his journey towards becoming a Paralympian.
