Exploration of Women in Art

Join us for Women of Substance, a virtually descriptive tour exploring women in art hosted by BORP on January 10th starting at 10:30am.

Description of Event: On January 10th, in partnership with the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, BORP’s Adventures & Outings Program will host an exploration of women in art with docent Lani Shepp. Women in history are often not seen or heard — with a few major exceptions. However, in art women have always played an important role as the subjects of artists. Not all of these subjects have been flattering or uplifting. On our tour we are going to look at portraits from the deYoung of 4 women, two of whom are named, and two who are representing beliefs and attitudes. Each is uplifting and inspiring in their own way—women of substance in their time and culture.

If you have any questions, please contact Lori at 510-843-4398 after 10am or email Lori at lori@borp.org. Please let Lori know that you will be attending the event.
