The BORP Jr. Road Warriors traveled to Phoenix to compete in the West Coast Conference Regional Tournament.

The team entered the tournament 4-0, coming off a great start to the season by winning the Arch Madness Tournament in St. Louis in November.
This week the team got to compete against teams from the West Coast Conference.

Day 1 of the tournament was great. The team went 4-0 on the day, extending the season record to a perfect 8-0. The team posted big wins over the Portland Wheel Blazers, Phoenix Wheelchair Suns, and Tucson Wildcats. The team came from being down in the first half to battle back and hold on down the stretch to beat the Rancho Halos (Los Angeles).

That advanced the team directly to the Championship Game on Sunday.
Sunday’s game would be a rematch with the Halos, and this game was not the same. Although the team played great defense, including holding the Halos scoreless for nine minutes in the 2nd half, the team just could not hit their shots.

The Jr. Road Warriors could only pull it to within five points before Rancho went on a run, resulting in a 20 point difference at the buzzer.
The team continues to build and get better each game. This was a rough game, but the energy was great and we just need to make our shots.
The team finished the tournament in 2nd place and Braulio Noriega was named to the All-Tournament Team. Zach Nazareno played great throughout the weekend and was named tournament MVP.
