Emily Seelenfreund has dedicated her career to advancing disability rights and expanding access to adaptive recreation. Prior to joining BORP, she served as Programmatic Access Coordinator for the City of Oakland and worked as an attorney with Disability Rights Advocates, litigating high-impact class-action cases on behalf of people with disabilities.
Emily is also the co-founder of ParaCliffHangers, a national nonprofit that has made indoor and outdoor adaptive climbing accessible to athletes across the country. A lifelong adaptive sports participant, she began participating in community-based programs at age 5, played collegiate wheelchair basketball, and has medaled in five Paraclimbing World Cups.
Adaptive recreation transformed Emily’s own life, and she is committed to ensuring that everyone has access to BORP’s programs—which foster confidence, community, and independence in the disability community.
