Celebrate 50 Years of BORP Where It All Began
Founded in 1976 as a U.C. Berkeley class project, BORP has spent 50 years expanding what is possible for people with disabilities. For this milestone, we are returning to campus to celebrate BORP’s storied history and launch its next chapter.
Held at the University Club, often described as the “penthouse” of Memorial Stadium, the evening will feature sweeping panoramic views of the Bay Area through glass walls and a wraparound balcony.
This special night will bring together BORP athletes, founders, alumni, former staff, and longtime supporters for a true community reunion. Guests will enjoy food and drinks, memorabilia and archival photos, and an exclusive premiere video celebrating five decades of impact.
As we celebrate fifty years of Play. Power. Progress. we also look ahead. This gala will help fuel the future of BORP, ensuring every person with a disability can unlock the feeling of belonging and possibility that sports and recreation provides.
