1. How is BORP supported?

BORP receives support by donations and grants from individuals, foundations, and local governments.

2. What will my donation support?

Your donation supports BORP programs and our ability to make a positive impact on the lives of people with physical disabilities.

3. Is my donation tax deductible?

BORP is a federally recognized 501(c)(3) public charity; therefore, your contribution is tax-deductible to the fullest extent of the law.  Please check specifics with your tax adviser.

4. What is BORP’s Tax ID number?

BORP’s Tax ID number is 94-2324340.

5. Can I make a donation by mail or phone?

Yes.  You can mail a check or money order made out to “BORP” to

You can donate over the phone with a credit card by giving us a call at 510-849-4663.

6. Is it safe to donate online?

Yes.  Our online donation processor, Network for Good, uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology to encrypt all data submitted to and from our donations web page.  SSL is supported by the major web browsers.

7. Can I make a recurring donation online?

Yes, and we hope you will consider doing so.  A recurring gift, no matter the amount, is a way you can make an ongoing impact.  On our online donation form, you can set up a monthly, quarterly, or annual donation by choosing the “recurring donation” option and choosing your preferred frequency.

8. Are there other ways I can support BORP?

Yes.  You can give to BORP through your will or trust (planned giving), donate stock, or even give an in-kind gift of a product or service which would help further our mission.  Also, you can volunteer your time and effort in order to help us positively impact the lives of people with physical disabilities.  For more information please contact our Development and Communications Manager, Betsy Dorsett, at (510) 225-7035.

9. Why does my credit card say “Network for Good” when I donate online?

BORP works with Network for Good to process your online donations.

10. Can I make a gift in honor or in memory of someone?

Yes.  Choose either option on our online donation page or include the relevant information with your check or money order.

At BORP, we believe that sports and recreation provide a path to greater achievement to which all people should have access, and we continually strive to make this a reality.
