Molly is dedicated to building inclusive communities through adaptive sports, participatory design, and deep engagement with disability culture. She has participated in adaptive sports for over twenty years as an athlete, team manager, and coach. Before joining BORP full-time, Molly served for a year as the organization’s Youth Wheelchair Basketball Head Coach. She also co-founded the Shield Maidens Wheelchair Basketball team, a nonprofit supporting women’s wheelchair basketball in Los Angeles.
Her work in adaptive sports is grounded in a deep commitment to equity and is informed by her earlier career in user experience research and digital accessibility—at Cisco, as a UX Researcher and Manager, and at Adobe, as an Inclusive Design Researcher. Molly holds a PhD in anthropology from UCLA, where she studied how disability community shaped the ways people with newly acquired disabilities navigated identity, medical systems, and technology.
She continues to draw on this background to create adaptive sports environments that are not only physically accessible, but also socially and emotionally responsive to the communities they serve.
